Living in fear of our own Shadows
“I woke up one morning with puffy eyes and half- closed eyelids
wondering why I could not ever get a good night’s rest? As I wondered, I thought
of all the hidden hurts inside me that came pouring out like flood waters. I
looked around for help but there was no one with whom I could share; who would
relate to my hurt and understand. So I kept going quietly carrying this entire
burden with me inside my heart… “
Is this your story too? I am here to tell
you that this is nothing but idiocy as some brainers would like to call it
sugar – coated as maturity.
When have we, Lived Freely, Given
Willingly, Forgiven Heartfully, and Loved Unconditionally?
Not every single individual in this world could possibly achieve
this state of mind. It’s impossible because most of us live in fear of our own
shadows; the society has trained our minds to camouflage and blend living like
machines with flesh and blood.
The one thing that haunts us is our own
memories we feel are not worthy of sharing, our traumas, our hurts. We are
afraid of what others might think about us if we revealed the darker side of
ourselves and instead pretend; to be the perfect human being with only the good
memories we consider are worth sharing. It is only a matter of time, when
almost everyone is pretending and showing themselves to be perfect human beings
according to the standards of the world.
Are you living afraid of your own shadow?
If so, it’s high time you change for the better. If not, you would remain
changed forever and not know where it all had begun in the first
place. You would find yourself repeating life as the History of your life
repeats itself; it would be like living through a painful process for you as
well as for those people who live with you. They would have no clue as to what
has happened with you but will have to put up with every single tantrum that
you throw at them.
There is no greater force in this world
that heals, binds, forgives and accepts you as you are with your past, present
and your future that is love. Love goes hand in hand with sacrifice; for
without sacrifice there is no love in this world even the greatest love of a
Mother towards her child is knitted tightly with sacrifice at each step. The
one who sacrifices experiences greater joy in life.
To break free, you have to be free within
yourself, free to share with open mindedness, free to break free from the bonds
that hold you by going back to the memory that haunts you and try to heal from
that wounding experience. Only you know to yourself how much those memories
hurt. Let’s all strive to be the one who listens to things unsaid and to say
the things unheard. That way we all can live freely, give willingly, forgive heartfully
and love unconditionally.
