We are Family
Family
is a strong word associated with deep emotion, in my native tongue it is called
‘Kudunbam’, where ‘Kudu’ stands for coming together and the other half word is
‘Inbam’ which means happiness. After having put it together, it seems to add
meaning to the word Family ‘coming together with happiness’.
Now, I believe that there is no soul in this world who would not agree with the above meaning of Family, besides who would stay together if they aren't happy? My question now is to all who believe in Family, What would you do individually to keep the happiness in the Family running? What would you give; what would you sacrifice, what would you do expecting nothing in return? I bet you are all loaded with answers and with logical explanations of the sacrifices you make. I am here to tell you that none of “ALL that you do” to keep the happiness running would actually work. Let’s face it, can anyone actually claim that because of this and that what you do is what keeps the Family happy!
Happiness
is a fluid state, it flows. The goal is to keep it flowing like a never drying River fed from the Glaciers and surrounded with vegetation strengthening its
borders. It is beyond all human wisdom of gaining or achieving it instead it is
found in little things that you don’t mind about… for instance a laugh you
share about a stupid joke, an old song repeating in your head, a small act of
kindness. These may not seem to find their way in your daily diary or in the
Job you do to support the family or even at home but they flutter in the wind
like passing clouds but stay forever day and night providing both shade and
rain. Don’t treasure these moments or go look for them but build on them your Family.
Being
part of a family life let it be everyone’s wish to be the one who makes
memories from simple things that don’t seem to matter; being mindful of the
little things makes you a person who cares for the much bigger things in life. After
all, Kudumbam coming together with happiness is built on those little things
and they in the long run become echoed memories that ring with meaning of why
stay together and give hope to live on without any regrets. So in your endeavors
to stay happy in a family don’t forget to mind the little details. Relive those
moments for they in fact shape you to be who you are and what makes you, You.
In the days we have left to live, let us make beautiful memories.
